Image by Sigrid Zimaro. Sometimes I look around Couch of Amber and think about everything I still want to do. The ideas are definitely coming faster than the hours in the day. Behind the scenes, running this little place means wearing quite a few hats. I open the doors in the morning and close them again at night. Somewhere in between there are customers, coffees, menus, ordering, events, emails, social media, paperwork, cleaning, planning and a hundred little decisions nobody really sees....

Getting the keys on the 6th of November was one of those moments that felt unreal. Exciting, slightly terrifying, and full of possibility all at once. From that day on, everything moved quickly -and slowly - at the same time. The weeks that followed were filled with long days, very short nights, and more cups of coffee than we care to admit. We quickly learned what running on little sleep actually feels like (spoiler: it’s not glamorous). There were moments of exhaustion, frustration, and...
